No I am not leaving, I have a new job at Lifetouch photography and life is happening, that factor combined with the disappointment with this site over the past couple years is one reason. From glitches that have lasted nearly a presidential term, to the disregard by the administration on several subjects like art theft and allowing trolls to do as they please. Honestly, I'm sure dA was much easier to police 11 years ago when I first joined. But it just seems that things were much easier to do back in the day on here before they started trying to become a social media site. Call me old timer, but most of the recent features released on dA since 2009 I have no use for. I still use the same features I have always used since joining in 2004. I'm not the one to complain about change usually, I kind of embraced most of their layout changes actually. There are just certain features here that tell me dA is focusing more on trying to become Facebook. Granted there are a lot of features Facebook has that deviantART could benefit from piggybacking, but I have not seen many of those implemented. For example I don't and never have needed a news feed on here, if I had something to say like I do now I will always post it here and that has not changed the entire time I've been a member here. For now deviantART has moved in a direction that I don't really like a whole lot, there is hope for this to be a vibrant community and it still in fact is. As admin of dAStreet I have been battling a voting glitch in the group, that I first reported to the admins in 2012 I think, low and behold it still exist. This is disappointing! No glitches should last this long. I've had other glitches that were fixed in 6 months like the period of time when I couldn't use drag and collect. When I first joined it seemed like most bugs were eradicated in less than a month's time. It seems that as technology got better we got worse?
1. This site will remain my archive site my posting will be consistent. I will keep this site up as it means a lot to me and my history as a photographer.
2. I am leaving roles at some groups and giving away Sports-Central, if you're interested contact me. I will remain at TRFN thought for certain, may not be as active as I use to but I can still perform my admin role. We-Give-a-Dam is definitely going to remain in my control. Other than it and TRFN the future of other operations is still up in the air unless I have already demoted myself.
3. As I said before I might end up being a deadbeat watcher, but that does not mean you won't ever get feedback from me. Part of my goal when I joined dA 11 years ago was to become professional and now that I have that it will certainly be more of my life now. I mean despite my complaining about dA my gallery is unique as it is a time line of my transition from beginner to pro.

Possible Limited DeviantART return may happen
Original plan was to purge and deactivate this account, but I am currently researching it's effectiveness a a piggy back to promote my FineArtAmerica prints account. In my nearly 2 decades of this account existing on deviantART I have never sold a single print, even more I've heard from many who have that any profit is very mini-cue. That being said to promote sales I focus on my FineArtAmerica, however I am researching to see if this lf deviantART can be used as a promotional tool. It all depends on average number of views. If the views are too low and I find it a waste of time I'll just deactivate and move on, if I find it useful I'll return but not as active in the community as I use to be. I have found other mediums to be much more vibrant and reliable than deviantART. https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/joseph-johns

Still miss me here? I see 500 watchers are still even in tact more than 5 years after I left deviantART! I still stop by out of curiosity, but it appears that to me deviantART has only become even less useful. Meanwhile if you want to see what I've been doing here's the place! https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/joseph-johns
Where am I today!
It's been nearly 3 years since any of you have heard from me, and I want to inform you of a spot I moved onto. Fine Art America https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/joseph-johns I am wanting to boost my views and sales and I have sold more prints than the 0 I sold in nearly a decade of being active here on dA. You can find me on Facebook as well. https://www.facebook.com/GeoLinaphotographyandproductions This is my Instagram handle which is new but rising pretty quickly. https://www.instagram.com/geolinaphotography/ For those of you who miss me here since I decided to ditch this platform in 2016 feel free to follow those pages! The odds of me returning to dA are sadly almost 0, but I am hoping to use the rest of this pages existence to forward to progress to my new pages. Eventhough I left dA I did get my start here as a 15 year old. But the future is now and sadly many much better platforms have surpassed dA. As for this account it will remain abandoned probably until I et
Last days of this account are coming.
I have been on hiatus from DeviantART for 2 years hoping for some notable improvements I login maybe twice a year just to lurk. I am not arriving at a decision that a few years back would have made me very sad, but now not so much. My works will continue. I had this account since I was 15, imagine that as time goes by my needs for an art sharing site exceeded this platform. Lack of audience did play a role too, as it seemed in recent years more of the My Little Pony fanbase seems to be taking over and there are not very many serious photographers, much-less sports action like myself.
It's not happening immediately, there's still images I wan

I kind of get where you're coming from. I've got my own set of problems that deal more with me than anything else. Such as the fact that I've lost a lot of interest in DA which is the main reason why it takes months before I post anything after I've spent a week posting pics that are way past due. And in all honesty I've had the train of thought to shut my profile down because of it.
